GJEPC Certified Gemstones: What are They & Why Should you Buy Them
Are the gemstones you buy genuine and worth your money? Is there a way to make sure of the authenticity of gems? That’s where GJEPC certified gemstones come in!
What is a GJEPC Certificate?
A GJEPC certificate is a document that verifies the quality and authenticity of a gemstone. It contains information such as the report number, report date, conclusion, color, weight, description, shape and cut, dimensions, transparency, other tests, and comments.
A GJEPC certificate can help you in many ways:
- You can rest assured that the certified gemstone is natural and not synthetic or imitation.
- You can learn about the physical and optical properties of the gemstone, such as its color, clarity, cut, carat weight, and treatments with the help of its GJEPC certificate.
- It eliminates the risk of fraud and scams that may sell you low-quality or fake gemstones at high prices.
- The value and marketability of your gemstone in the global market increase when it’s certified.
How to Understand a GJEPC Certificate?
A GJEPC certificate can be divided into three sections: header, body, and footer. The header contains the logo of the GJEPC and the name of the laboratory that issued the certificate. You can also find a barcode and a hologram for security purposes.
The body contains the main information about the gemstone, such as:
- Report Number: A unique identification number is assigned to each certificate
- Report Date: The date when the certificate was issued
- Conclusion: The summary of the findings of the laboratory analysis
- Color: The color grade or description of the gemstone according to a standard system
- Weight: The weight of the gemstone in carats (1 carat = 0.2 grams)
- Description: The type and variety of the gemstone
- Shape & cut: The shape and style of cutting of the gemstone
- Dimensions: The measurements of the gemstone in millimeters (length x width x depth)
- Transparency: The degree of transparency or opacity of the gemstone
- Comments: Any additional remarks or observations about the gemstone
How to Verify a GJEPC Gem Certificate?
To verify a GJEPC gem certificate, you can follow these steps:
- Make sure that the barcode and hologram on the certificate are visible.
- Log on to the official website of the GJEPC.
- Select the lab that issued the certificate under the “LAB” section.
- Enter the report number and report date as shown on the certificate and click on “Submit”.
- Make sure that the received information confirms the details in the certificate.
- Alternatively, you can call or email the laboratory that provided the certificate.
Why Should You Buy GJEPC-certified Gemstones?
Buying GJEPC-certified gemstones has many advantages:
- You can trust that the gemstones are natural and authentic, as they are tested by reputed and accredited laboratories using advanced equipment and techniques.
- You can get thorough and reliable information about the qualities and features of the gemstones, which may help in the comparison and making of well-informed decisions.
- You can avoid getting deceived by dishonest sellers who can offer you expensive, fake, or low-quality gemstones.
- You can increase the value and demand of your gemstones in the global market, as GJEPC certificates are recognized and respected by buyers and sellers worldwide.
GJEPC: When Should You Seek Certification?
Seeking GJEPC certification is recommended for gemstones with a value of Rs. 10,000 and above, as the certification process involves an associated cost of approximately Rs. 1,500. This threshold ensures that buyers receive the assurance of authenticity and quality for gemstones of significant value, while also helping them make informed purchasing decisions.
The certification cost is a worthwhile investment in ensuring that the gemstone’s attributes and market value are accurately assessed, ultimately enhancing trust and confidence in the gemstone’s worth.
